The ‘It’s A Wild Animal’: For some reason believes that their cat, which has been domesticated for over 10,000 years, is actually still a wild animal. Will argue that cats should be free and wild because it’s ‘natural’. Probably won’t be able to explain why this doesn’t apply to dogs.
The ‘My Cat/s Lived X Years’: For some reason believes that because their own cats beat the odds, the danger of the outdoors is nonexistent. Likes to ignore the statistical information that shows on average that cats allowed to freeroam outdoors have a shorter lifespan than cats who aren’t.
The ‘My Cat Hardly Ever Kills’: Generally believes that whatever their cat brings back represents how much they are killing when cats actually do not bring back most of their kills.
The ‘My Cat Hates It Indoors’: Probably hasn’t done much to look up ways to convert outdoor cats into happy indoor cats. Probably also doesn’t provide their cat with enough stimulation and enrichment indoors.
The ‘Keeping Cats Indoors Is Cruel’: Probably doesn’t provide their cat with enough stimulation and enrichment indoors. Occasionally also just enjoys the perk of not having to scoop litter boxes. Basically, just wants to let the outdoors stimulate their cat rather than putting any actual time into doing so themselves. Will pretend they didn’t hear you if you bring up catios, cat harnesses, and cat fencing.
The ‘I Live In The Country’: Seems to have forgotten that wild animals exist. Probably doesn’t realize that some birds of prey are big enough to fly off with a cat.
The ‘I Don’t Live On A Busy Road’: Basically plays Russian roulette with their cat. Because it probably won’t be hit. Probably.
The ‘We Don’t Keep Cats Indoors Here’: Apparently thinks that where they live does not have any of America’s dangers and is, in fact, some sort of cat utopia.
