And in a shocking twist, Elon Musk has not kept his word on helping Flint residents afford water filters

‪You know what? I have a lot of followers. If I could get a list of contacts for people who need filters I bet I could wrangle enough donations to pay for them ‬

Okay! I have a plan! Here is the link to the Flint Water Fund by United Way: bit.ly/FlintStrong

It 100% goes towards buying bottled water for residents. The government has cut off aid to us and these charities are all we have.

I do have one request though! On the page provided it asks for your affiliation (if you have one) and if you guys could put ‘kaijuno’ in that box, it will help me know how much money you guys have raised!

Please consider donating if you can 💜

ok you guys SERIOUSLY need to put clickable links on these donations posts or they’re not gonna go anywhere. you also need to fill out a ton of personal information on this donation link (which some people don’t want to do & it takes a ton more time) so you should consider making a fund thru cash app or paypal that goes directly to you, that you can then donate to the organization yourself. @kaijuno

Is there anywhere to donate towards actually fixing their water, not just buying bottled water? I realize that bottled water saves people immediately, and I’m not suggesting it isn’t important, and I will definitely be donating on payday, but I would also like to donate to a fund that focuses on fixing their tap water to make it safe again in the long term.

That is something only the government can do, so no. We as private citizens aren’t able to fix a government-owned plumbing system. What you can do is call up your senators and ask them to hold Congress and the White House accountable for the damage they’re causing to Flint residents.
