OP I dunno if this was written a while ago but lest we forget the Hamilton AIDS mermaid AU fanfic RPers and the abusive girlfriend who tried to use a “Missing Person” PSA to track down her boyfriend.

Let’s not forget the person who made a blog and claimed she wrote My Immortal, and that she was a lesbian Native American who wrote the fic to find her long lost brother while she was at an orphanage. She also used that chance to advertise some books she’s written over the years and said she would write a biography soon. Later on, someone who claimed to be her brother exposed her and said that she never wrote My Immortal and he was never lost. Apparently she wasn’t even Native American either. She then disappeared and never returned, not even to write her biography.
