I just had a minor car accident tonight (10-30-18). no one else was involved. I was driving my roommate home from work, it was storming badly and couldn’t see, and I have two blownout tires and damaged rims. I’m filing an insurance claim for the damage to my car & having that taken care of, but I don’t have $ for ubering around in the meantime. I also need $ to replace my windshield wipers. my roommate provides housing for me (I’m disabled & very low-income) but I provide transportation for her to get to work. it costs $12 one-way for her to get to work or home. we have to pay rent/bills & wont have much left over – plus we already struggle financially. I’m mostly homebound, but I need $ for ubering tomorrow to be there for the tow-truck and to go to the grocery store & get some things since I won’t have transportation for now. this happened at a really awful time for both of us, and we can’t afford for her to miss work. it was dark & rainy but I have pictures of the damage if anyone would like to see it, and I can get better pictures tomorrow (if I can figure out a way to get there).
tl;dr – my roommate & I temporarily have no transportation & need help paying for using uber or lyft. it costs $24 a day for her to get to work and back. we are low income. if anyone is able to help out it would be much appreciated – any amount is a big help.
